Join the Counseling Center on March 19 for an important Suicide Prevention Conference in Gateway (Building 101, Room 104), featuring CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means). CALM will provide 2 training opportunities:

CALM Clinical Workshop from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
in this workshop, participants will gain effective strategies to reduce access to lethal means in times of suicide risk. This workshop is designed for mental health professionals or others working in direct care with students and/or clients who may experience heightened suicide risk.

CALM Conversations from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: this workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to effectively have a conversation regarding lethal means safety and reducing access to lethal means in times of crisis. This is a great add-on for anyone who has attended a previous gatekeeper training (like QPR or Mental Health First Aid).
